After the establishment of the caliphate by the Islamic State, many Syrians fled the sectarian violence. If they survive the boat trip from Turkey to Greece and the harsh trek through Europe. They arrive in a Netherlands that is not equipped for large numbers of refugees. Normally housed in asylum seeker centres awaiting their asylum procedure, they are now moved from community centres to gyms. Every five days, with everything you own, to a new place.  In Hoorn, they are being accommodated in sports hall de Kreek. In three separate rooms, people sleep in partitioned areas with their family or friends they met during their journey, using camp beds. Everything is taken care of. Food, drink, but it is mainly a waiting game until they can continue with their lives.  Waiting for a status is a record of those five days in Hoorn. The help from the Hoorn population and the large number of volunteers who have donated their time to help these people.
