# Face Book **Source:** https://guillaumegroen.com/en-gb/face-book **Language:** English (United Kingdom)---# The team page## THE TEAM PAGEYou know the drill, you call an organisation and speak to an employee. You have a pleasant conversation and make an appointment, or you do as I do and prepare yourself. I always check the organisation's website and look for the face book or the 'about us' proposal page.  Because I like to see a face to the person I've just spoken to.Or maybe you just had a nice chat during your son or daughter's football match, while out shopping, or at a mutual friend's birthday party. You'd love to catch up again, but you don't have their contact details—just the company they work for. If you have a great staff directory or 'meet the team' page with profile pictures or professional headshots and contact details, that could easily turn into a new customer. What is a staff directory? The introduction page for businesses and organisations is like an extended phone book. This can be an app, a web application, or just a simple web page.photos#### What is a staff directory? The company proposal page, also known as the 'face book'. It's a proposal page, often part of the 'about us' pages on a website or part of a company or organisation's intranet. In factories and hospitals, among other places, the photos from the face book are also used on company ID badges. But above all, it's a page where you can look up colleagues so you can get in touch with them. And you introduce your team members to your clients. Definitely let your staff share a bit more about their passion for their work to make the introduction page extra personal.#### WHAT DO YOU USE A TEAM PAGE FOR?You use the staff directory or 'about us' team page to connect your customers, potential clients, and interested people with the ambassadors of your organisation: the skilled professionals and employees who work for you. Combined with contact info, LinkedIn profiles, and a personal story about their passion for work, you're putting your best foot forward.Contact with your customer becomes more personal because they already have a face to the name before they meet someone in person.## HOW DO YOU CREATE A TEAM PAGE?If you don't have an about us page yet, it's a good idea to start with the management team. But introducing your employees is just as important. You probably have all the contact details available. Also, be sure to include a relevant link to the employee's LinkedIn profile on the contact page. LinkedIn has long ceased to be a glorified CV but is a fully-fledged business social media platform where professionals keep each other informed and share knowledge. You can create an introduction page per department or division or alphabetically. Sometimes, in collaboration with the web builder, a dynamic introduction page is created that allows you to filter and search. Also, ensure that your page is SEO-friendly so that your employees are found on the company page and not just on LinkedIn; after all, they are your best ambassadors. If you know who you want on the proposal page, it's time to book a photographer. It's important that you get both a photo for the proposal page and a profile photo for LinkedIn or other social media platforms. This creates consistency and ensures your employee is recognisable.Use smart workwear or your brand colours in the profile pictures. This builds recognition and lets your clients know they work for you. It also looks more professional.Store the profile pictures in your company's image library. That way, you'll always have a recent photo of an employee on hand when you need one for things like an advertorial, a magazine article, or a blog post on your website.Always ask the photographer for a free-use licence too. This ensures that you can use the photo anytime and anywhere to promote your business. When you work with me, you get a business licence. This covers the use of the photo without any surprise invoices afterwards for using the images. So you've bought out the rights for usage. When I'm taking social media portraits, you get two photos: 1 business portrait from the knee up and a square profile picture for LinkedIn. You can pop the business portrait on your about page or team page, and use the social media portrait on LinkedIn, for example, or in apps like Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Then share the profile pictures with your colleagues so they can post them on LinkedIn themselves and update their profile picture in MS Teams and Google Meet.A photo lasts about three years, after which it's time to refresh the portraits.
